Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC3D) has jurisdiction covering the Palisades, Spring Valley, Wesley Heights, & American University Park. See their web site at www.anc3d.org.

The Palisades is spread among three commissioners' areas: 3D04, 3D05, and 3D06. The ANC website shows the area boundaries.

The Advisory Neighborhood Commission is the "grassroots" organization in DC's political structure designed to reflect community and neighborhood interests, from zoning variances to liquor licenses, from traffic to police protection. Its views, by law, are to be given special weight by District departments and agencies. The commissioners are elected to two-year terms on regular election days.

ANC3D meets the first Wednesday of the month in the Ernst Auditorium of the Sibley Memorial Hospital at 7:30 p.m.
