CRIME WATCH

There were 14 crimes in the Palisades during the month of September — one assault, one robbery, two thefts from autos, three stolen autos, and seven thefts.
The assault occurred on September 1 at approximately 5:00 a.m. A jogger was struck from behind by an unknown person in the 5100 block of Loughboro Road.
The robbery occurred in the 4800 block of MacArthur Boulevard on September 11 at approximately 1:00 p.m. The victim reported that someone leaned against her and stole her wallet, which contained approximately $60 and her driver’s license.
Items were stolen from vehicles parked in the 4400 block of Reservoir Road and the 5600 block of Potomac Avenue. A window of one vehicle was broken, and a car stereo, CDs, a medical bag and a radar detector were stolen. The second incident involved an unlocked vehicle belonging to a pool maintenance service. A trash pump and a Honda motor were taken.
Automobiles were stolen from the 4500 and 5700 blocks of MacArthur Boulevard and from the 5100 block of Manning Place. Two were recovered; the other is a 1991 black, four-door Toyota Camry with Maryland license plates.
Thefts occurred at the Exxon station and Our Lady of Victory school in the 4800 block of MacArthur Boulevard, at Sibley Hospital in the 5200 block of Loughboro Road (two incidents), the 1500 and 1600 blocks of Foxhall Road, and the 2800 block of Foxhall Road.
A torch was used to break into vending machines at the Exxon station and $30 was stolen; $200 and Giant Food gift certificates were taken from an unlocked office in the school; a patient’s wallet was taken from his room and an employee’s purse was taken from an unsecured office at Sibley Hospital; jewelry was stolen from a private residence.
