There
were 20 crimes reported in the Palisades during the month of December,
1999. These included one assault, six burglaries, two thefts,
four thefts from autos, two stolen autos, and five cases of destruction
of property.
The assault took place in the 5100 block of Fulton Street, on
the street, on December 3.
Two of the burglaries occurred in the 5800 block of Potomac Avenue
on December 12, one took place in the 5200 block of MacArthur
Boulevard on December 8, and another occurred in the 5000 block
of Garfield Street on December 15. All four were house burglaries.
A convenience store and a dry cleaners in the 5100 block of MacArthur
Boulevard were burglarized on December 20.
Two thefts occurred in the 5200 block of MacArthur; one from a
porch on December 22, the other from the sidewalk on December
9.
Thefts from autos occurred in the 5800 block of MacArthur on December
24, the 5900 block of MacArthur on December 6, the 2800 block
of Arizona Avenue, also on December 6, and in the 5700 block of
Sherier Place.
Autos were stolen from the 5100 block of Cathedral Avenue on December
4 and the 5200 block of Cathedral on December 17.
Two reports of destruction of property were reported on December
13 in the 5600 block of Sherier Place. One involved more than
$200 in damages, the other less than $200. In the alley off of
the 5800 block of Potomac Avenue, another case of destruction
of property occurred on December 14 involving more than $200 in
damages. On December 26 more than $200 in damages occurred in
the sidewalk area of the 4400 block of Reservoir Road. óP. F.
