March 2000 Neighborhood Notices

PCA Vice President Alice Stewart reminds us that Hillcrest, our sister association, has its monthly meetings on the first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to noon. Call her at 364-1505 if you would like to go.
She wonders, also, if anyone would like to help plan a summer get-together?

It’s not too late to try your luck in Key School PTA’s super raffle. The grand prize is $10,000, with three great non-cash prizes. A maximum of 500 tickets will be sold. Call Jack Koczela at 244-5681 or Catherine Ryan at 244-8442 to purchase a $100 ticket, or with questions. The drawing is April 1.

Friends of Carolina Park, located at the intersection of Carolina Place and Macomb Street, is looking for additional volunteers to plan for the park’s renovation. The spot has great potential. So, if you can help, call Karen Leder at 537-0797, or e-mail to karenleder@aol.com PCA member Samina Ahmed would like anyone interested in a French tutor to call her at 363-7564.

Seeking Chairs for "Friends of Palisades Park"

March, 2000 -- After 5-plus years of chairing “Friends of Palisades Park,” (FPP) the two co-chairs, Barbara Power and Cary Ridder, are ready to retire, in a big way!
If you are interested in doing something for the community that is very positive and upbeat, consider chairing Friends of Palisades Park.
Although the Park was renovated by the neighborhood five years ago, FPP remains involved with improvement and use issues, as well as staging community cleanup days. The group has a great track record so people are very willing to help work not only on Palisades Recreation Center and Park, but also on the W Street park and the Carolina Place park, two other important play areas in our neighborhood.
If you have ideas about how Palisades Park can be further improved, here’s an opportunity to make it happen!
Please call Barb at 244-9152 or Cary at 364-5795 if you are interested in running this group.
