Crime Watch by Phil Frisbee
March 24, 2000 -- There were 28 crimes reported in the Palisades for the month
of February: one case of adult sexual abuse, one assault, one burglary and
one burglary attempt, five thefts, six thefts from automobiles, four stolen
autos, two auto theft attempts, and seven cases of destruction of property.

March 24, 2000 -- As readers may have noticed, signs along the construction
fence on MacArthur Boulevard near the drug store announced the first tenants
for the new V Street commercial building: Marvelous Market and a Kodak photography
store.

Collects High-Decibel Readings in Anticipation of Meetings with Airport Officials

March 24, 2000 -- By summer, PCA will be armed with hundreds of decibel meter
readings high enough --over 70 -- to prove that existing FAA regulations are
not being followed by all flights, thus making a strong case for better enforcement.

March 11, 2000 -- The Dalecarlia Water Treatment Plant has concluded the toxic
chemical used for disinfecting the water poses no threat to the Palisades.
