Palisades Newsletter

NEW NEWSLETTER EDITOR

June, 2000 -- It's been my pleasure to serve as editor of your newsletter since January, 1995, serving under four talented PCA presidents: Marcia Allen, Sally Fallon, Penny Pagano and Cary Ridder.
During this time the newsletter expanded to 8 pages, added photographs, and a number of new features: Palisades historian Harold Gray as writer of "Lore of the Palisades," Linda Starke's "On the Boulevard," Sheila Rotner's "Art in the Palisades," "Palisades Profiles," "Focus On," twice-yearly listing of home sales compiled by Nancy Hammond, and an annual "Wish List" from non-profit organizations.
The Palisades owes huge kudos to Patrick Zickler who finally passes on the design/layout work, which he has been doing since October, 1991, when he also took on the editor's job for two years.
Thanks, also, to Mark Hall, photo editor since April, 1998, proofreader extraordinaire Penny Pagano, John Finney who keeps us up-to-date on almost everything, and the PCA Board of Directors, dedicated to the welfare of the Palisades and frequent contributors to the newsletter who know the meaning of "deadline."
And appreciation goes to Leyla Uran and her co-workers at KwikKopy, 4000 Wisconsin Avenue, for their complete reliability.
I'm pleased to report that Julie Russell is the new editor. She has a lot of experience in writing, editing and desktop publishing. My work with her leads me to believe that she will be terrific. She can be contacted at 244-5513, e-mail, julie@agtrader.com.
Julie, her husband Peter, their daughter Charlotte and dog Drew have lived in the Palisades since 1995, first in a rental house on MacArthur Boulevard and, since last summer, in a house they own on Carolina Place.
Her hobbies include reading, gardening, swimming, and long walks through the neighborhood with Drew.
Professionally, she has worked in financial product marketing and sales, most recently with commodities.
Julie, you now have the best job in the Palisades.
