THE PALISADES
NEIGHBORHOOD SALUTES OUR
2010 JULY 4 SPONSORS
Our neighborhood
is very fortunate to have the support of our wonderful business community.
Without their contributions, the PCA would not be able to host the annual
parade and picnic. We are extremely grateful for all that they do for
our community and hope that you will show your appreciation by patronizing
them.

ANNOUNCING ... the 45th
Annual Palisades July 4th Parade & Picnic!
When and where is the parade?
The Palisades Annual
July 4th Parade & Picnic will take place ... July 4th (in
case there was any doubt). [Next year, 2011, July 4th is a Monday.]
The Parade starts
at 11:00 noon at the corner of Whitehaven Pkwy NW and MacArthur Blvd.
and ends at the Palisades Recreation Center on Sherier Place NW.
Can I join the parade?
If you would like
to participate in the parade, it's easy! Just line up starting at 10:15am
on Whitehaven Pkwy. No registration is necessary. We encourage all marchers
to WALK and make it FUN! Too many cars make for a boring parade. Don't
forget, there will be parade prizes, so be as creative as you can!!
What happens afterwards?
Free picnic following
the parade at the Palisades Rec Center with hot dogs, juice, moon bounces,
pony rides and live music under a big tent!
How can I help?
Volunteers
are needed to help make this event a success. Parade
marshals are needed to help control traffic and to keep the
parade moving along. Contact palisadesdc@hotmail.com.
T-shirt sales people are also needed.
Don't forget, those sales help finance the parade. Contact Maria
Garcia at maria2270@comcast.net
to get a copy of the schedule of sales times/locations.
Volunteers
are also needed at the picnic. Set up tables
at 10:30am; cut the watermelon at
11:30 (bring your own knife!) and the highly-coveted clean
up duty at 3:30. Contact Spence Spencer at williamspencer@yahoo.com
to sign up. Show your civic pride and help!!!!
